Banners at Schneider Regional Spotlight Staff While Branding the Center

Dec. 16, 2005 – As part of the new branding campaign for Schneider Regional Medical Center, 30 eight-foot color banners were installed on the light poles of the hospital parking lot this week. The banners feature about a dozen different photographs of past Employees of the Year at Schneider Regional with the brand name and logo, a release from the center said.
"This was a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase the dedicated and talented employees here,"Rodney E. Miller Sr., Schneider Regional chief executive officer, said in the release. "It also highlights some of the core values of this organization with short theme messages, he said.
The large color banners are hard to miss on both sides of the hospital parking lot and in front of the Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Institute which is under construction.
Jeannine Mydlenski, director of Respiratory Care's. first reaction was ‘‘Oh my God, they’re huge", she said she wasn't expecting what she found. But, she said, "It does make the hospital a little more in tune with the community, and it shows we live and work here, too."
Chief of Surgery Frank Odlum, said, "This is cool," when he saw the banners above his car. "These banners are great because they really reflect the physician staff in addition to nursing, administrative, and other areas of the hospital,"he said. "They show a good mixture of the people who work here."
Some staff was a little skittish about seeing themselves in a bigger-than-life picture, according to the release.
"Oh, Lord," said Chief of OB/GYN Dr. Margaret Sprauve. "I just hope no one uses them for dart practice."
The design of the banners was made by MLB Creative Inc. and the installation done by Cool Signs, both local companies. Banners will also be placed at Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center on St. John.
