Junior High Spanish Quiz Bowl Winners Announced

Dec. 4, 2005 – The St. Thomas-St. John District Superintendent's Office announces the winners of the First Annual Year of the Languages Junior High School Spanish Quiz Bowl.
Foreign Language Coordinator Myrna Van Beverhoudt said, "Congratulations are offered to all of the winners and participants for a job well done. A very special thank you goes out to all of the dedicated teachers, coaches and principals for making the Spanish Quiz Bowl a reality."
The Winners are as follows:
First Place: Addelita Cancryn Junior High School
Coach: Gladys Collins; Team members: Eric Aime, Jemila Benjamin, Sean LaPlace, Kyle Wyatt, Alternates: Rackel Page and Rochelle Robinson
Administrators: Yvonne Pilgrim and Selassie Francis

Second Place: Wesleyan Academy
Coach: Gailyn Hendrickson; Team members: Addis Elliott, Kiara John, Ronald Martin, Sharifa Willet, Alternates: Idahlia Babrow and Alexis Fleming Administrator: Beverly J. Hinds
Third Place: Julius Sprauve School
Coach: Carolyn Hodge; Team members: Kalaria Louis, Razzilee Oquendo, J'moi Powell, Danella Bridgewater
Administrator: Mario Francis
Fourth Place: Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School
Coach: Jacqueline Pickering; Team members: Shanique Kingston, Syneqa Smith, Jenelle Henry, Karleem Gilkes, Alternates: D'Andra Bryan and Tianna Registe
Administrator: Carver Farrow
"Many thanks also to all of the parents, friends and other supporters that attended the event. Heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club of St. Thomas II for donating the refreshments. Muchisimas gracias to the distinguished judges: Professor Violeta Donovan, Marina Salem and Jenifer Simon," said Van Beverhoudt.
