4th St. Croix Marathon to be Held New Year's Day

4th St. Croix Marathon to be Held New Year's Day
The Virgin Islands Pace Runners has organized the St. Croix International Marathon will be held on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2006, at 5 a.m. It will start at Plaza Extra Queen Mary Highway in Frederiksted and finish at Fort Frederick. The race is organized by the Virgin Islands Pace Runners and is open to runners of all performance levels ages 18 and older.
The Association of International Marathons and the Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation sanction the marathon. Awards will be given to the top finishers including: $5,000 in prize money, medals and certificates.
The event is held to raise funds for the development of track and field, road running and cross-country in the V.I. Sponsors and volunteers are welcomed. Advertisers can purchase ads for $1,000, $500, $250 and $100.
