Medical Center Will Train Clergy on HIPAA

The Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center will be hosting an orientation and training session on Friday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m., in the third floor classroom. The meeting will explain the significance of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the policy and procedure regarding visitation of faith community leaders in the hospital, and the number of passes that will be allowed per church or faith group. Required documentation is needed by clergy, such as a copy of ordination certificate, or a letter from church or faith group. Refreshments will be served.
