Arts Alive Festival Opens Thanksgiving Weekend

Nov. 18, 2005 — Arts Alive's 26th Annual Holiday Arts, Crafts and Music Festival kicks off Thanksgiving weekend in Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas – just in time to start holiday shopping.
The Festival is scheduled for Nov. 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More than 30 student and professional artists will offer jewelry, pottery, paintings, clothing, crafts and more. Tillett Gardens' own resident-artists will also show ceramic art, candles, hand-painted clothing, glassware and ornaments.
Live music from local musicians will fill the area from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. The line-up includes Danny Sibler Ensemble, Jason Jones, steek Creek, Davis Murray and Morgan "The Steel Pan" Rael, Harmony Dem and others.
Sunday's live entertainment includes some of the same musicians as well as a 1 p.m. performance from Pistarckle Theater actors.
Jack's Restaurant will be open both days, and Grandma'z House will be open Saturday only.
Artists interested in reserving a space can call 775-1929 or stop by the Kazooti Clay Studio in Tillett Gardens. The Festival is supported by a grant from the V.I. Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
