Miller Named President-Elect of National Health Group

Nov. 9, 2005 — Rodney Miller Sr., president and CEO of Schneider Regional Medical Center, was elected president of the National Association of Health Services Executives in October, according to a release issued this week.
Miller hopes his new position, which he will take in June 2007, will improve health care in the Virgin Islands.
"In this critically important national health care position, I will have the invaluable opportunity to regularly interact with key national healthcare leaders. This will allow me to advance several health care initiatives on behalf of the Virgin Islands," Miller said in the release.
There is no chapter of the NAHSE active in the Virgin Islands right now, but Miller said he hopes to bring an NAHSE convention to the islands in 2007.
This is the first time an executive from the Virgin Islands will lead a major professional healthcare organization. NAHSE is a group for black executives who work in the healthcare industry. According to the group's Web site, its goals lie in "promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders, and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities."
Miller said, "It is an honor to become the new president of NAHSE, and I look forward to contributing to this valuable organization and helping advance their mission to elevate the quality of health care services to minorities and the underserved."
