DPNR's Energy Office Offers Discretionary Grants

Nov. 9, 2005 – Commissioner Dean C. Plaskett Esq., of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, announced the availability of grant applications for the fall cycle of the Discretionary Grant Program's (DGP) major and mini-grant initiative.
Not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, schools and institutions may apply for grants for energy research and education, energy efficient/solar outdoor lighting or building retrofit projects. A maximum of $20,000 is available per applicant for major grants and $1,500 for mini-grants, according to the press release from the DPNR.
Applications are available at the Virgin Islands Energy Offices at the following locations:
· Cyril E. King Terminal Building, 2nd floor, St. Thomas
· No. 45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted, St. Croix
The deadline for the submission of grant applications is the close of business on Friday, Dec. 16, 2005. All grant applications must be for projects within the United States Virgin Islands.
