St. Croix Hotel & Tourism Association Meets Tomorrow

Nov. 7, 2005 – President of the St. Croix Hotel & Tourism Association Fred Laue is pleased to welcome Kenneth Mapp of the Public Finance Authority (PFA) and Brian Majesty of Tropical Shipping to the monthly membership meeting, Nov. 8, at Cormorant Beach Hotel beginning at 5 p.m.
"It is an ideal time to hear about new developments on the island of St. Croix, said Laue. With high season right around the corner, these improvements to our destination will make St. Croix an even more attractive vacation option for visitors," said Laue.
Majesty will review Tropical Shipping's Free Stay Caribbean Cruise Conversion program, which offers cruise ship passengers attractive discounts if they return as land based vacationers. The card distributed also encourages the passengers to visit the Hotel Association web site and register for a sweepstakes. The destination is also able to collect a valuable database of potential visitors to entice with year-round promotional offers.
Mapp, executive director of the PFA, will provide an update on the newest addition to the hotel product, Sea Island Hotel in downtown Christiansted. The property is in the final stages of renovation. Currently 12 rooms are available for visitors, and the remaining rooms, restaurant, business center, and common areas are scheduled for completion by 2006.
