4 More Ships Dodging Wilma Coming to St. Thomas

Oct. 25, 2005 — The Virgin Islands have avoided Hurricane Wilma's winds, but the storm has blown additional cruise ships into St. Thomas's port. Four ships that were originally scheduled to visit other Caribbean islands will arrive in St. Thomas this week.
On Tuesday, the Carnival Glory will arrive in St. Thomas from Nassau, Bahamas at 10 a.m. and berth at the West Indian Co. Ltd. dock. It will leave for San Juan at 7:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, Disney Magic will arrive at 6:45 a.m. from St. Maarten and depart for Castaway Cay at 4:45 p.m. While in St. Thomas, it will berth at the WICO dock.
Thursday, two ships — Carnival Victory and Mariner of the Seas — will arrive at 7:30 a.m. at the WICO dock. Carnival Victory will depart for Miami at 6 p.m., and Mariner of the Seas will depart for Port Canaveral at the same time.
Hurricane Wilma brought two ships to St. Thomas last week while the weather system was still a tropical storm. The Carnival Valor and The Star Princess both made stops in St. Thomas.
Hurricane Wilma is not the first storm this year that has have diverted cruise ships to St. Thomas. Hurricane Emily and a few tropical storms have brought ships to St. Thomas that were originally scheduled to dock at other Caribbean islands.
