UVI Will Have Auditions for 'The Sound of Music'

Oct. 19, 2005 – The University of the Virgin Islands Music Department will hold auditions this weekend for the upcoming musical "The Sound of Music." Boys, girls and women cast members are needed.
Auditions for children will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the Choir Room of the Music Building on the St. Thomas campus. Four girls, ages 5 to 18 years old, and two boys, ages 6 to 17 years old, are needed. Children must prepare the tune "Doe, a Deer, a Female Deer," according to the press release from the department.
Auditions for adult female members cast will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the same location. Twelve women ages 18 and above are needed for the adult cast. The tune to prepare is "Climb Every Mountain."
