Workshop Will Teach How to Make Vejigantes Masks
The St. Croix Landmarks Society presents Kenneth Melendez of Ponce, Puerto Rico who will teach a hands-on workshop on creating Vejigantes masks. The masks are scary, brilliantly colored, papier-mache that represent the fun and mischief of Carnival and date back to the 1700's.
The free workshops will be taught at the Whim Museum on:
Monday, Sept. 26, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Space is limited and reservations are required.
