Applications Being Accepted for the Miss Talented Virgin Islands Pageant

Sept. 1, 2005 – Miss Talented Virgin Islands Inc. is recruiting applicants for the Inaugural Miss Talented Virgin Islands Pageant. The pageant will be held on Feb. 11, 2006. The contest is open to any woman who deems herself to be talented and is a U.S. citizen who has lived in the Virgin Islands for more than three years. Eligible women must be between the ages of 22 and 35, according to a press release from MTVI.
MTVI is a new competition primarily aimed at the many talented women who lost their opportunity to vie in a competition for one reason or another. It has become evident that many of the Virgin Islands' most talented women have never made it to the stage.
Now women with or without children, married or unmarried, former pageant contestants or not may vie for Miss Talented Virgin Islands. This contest will afford them the opportunity to demonstrate their talent through dance, song, oral expression, gymnastics, playing a musical instrument, or any other art form, says the press release.
Applications are available at St. John Administrator's Office, Bridal and Tuxedo Center (Tutu Park Mall), Food Center (Fredenhoj), Chelsea Drug Store (Red Hook) and Coiffure Beauty (Back Street). The deadline for applications is Sept 17.
