U.S. Attorney Will Speak at Rotary

Aug. 23, 2005 – Anthony J. Jenkins, recently appointed United States attorney for the Virgin Islands, will be the featured speaker at the regular weekly luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of St. Croix at noon on Thursday, Aug. 25, at Gertrude's Restaurant on the Hess Road.
Prior to his confirmation by the United States Senate on June 8, Jenkins served as the acting U.S. attorney for the Virgin Islands replacing David Nissman, who resigned in Aug. 2004.
He graduated summa cum laude from Troy in Atlanta and obtained his law degree from Mercer University School of Law. He served in the U.S. Army and was a federal prosecutor for 15 years.
Jenkins will be discussing the role of his office in dealing with white-collar crime, including alleged government graft and corruption as well as the grand jury system.
