Hate Crime On St. John

In response to the article in the St. Thomas Source regarding the FBI investigation of the African American business owner, I find the situation not surprising. It may be that the territory has been under the false belief that these types of events are uncommon, but, in actuality, they've always existed. They may have been expressed subtly or simply never reached the public.
Forgive me if I sound a bit grim, but, in a way, this may be a good thing. This may bring territory residents into correct perspective. Arguably, these are the types of activities and mindsets that actually control the Virgin Islands, regardless of what efforts are made to support the contrary. Hopefully, residents will now be aware of what truly exists on their islands and carry out VI life accordingly.
