Spring & Summer Seminars in Ceramic Arts Scheduled
Kids Potter's Wheel (ages 8-12)
Have fun in the Mud & Make beautiful glazed stoneware pottery bowls, mugs, plates. April 23, 30, May 14 and 21: Four Saturdays, 1:30-3:30 p.m. $105.
Lighting Sconces for Your Home (adults)
Learn how to make beautiful and personalized lighting fixtures for your own home. Easy and fun technique. May 20, 27 and June 3:
Three Fridays 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. $105.
Beginning Potter¹s Wheel (ages 15 and up)
We will guide you through all the basics. Learn to make bowls, mugs, vases in high fire stoneware. Also a great refresher course. May 25, June 1, 8, and 15:
4 Wednesdays 6 –9 p.m. $140.
Continuing Potter¹s Wheel (ages 15 and up)
Build on your skills by learning to throw taller and thinner forms and working with lids, pouring vessels, knobs and handles. July 13,20,27,August 3 & 10: five Wednesdays 6 – 9 p.m. $175.
Off the Wheel Handbuilding Workshop(ages 15 and up)
Get off that "gerbil wheel" and into some really far out forms using slab, coil pinch and extruding techniques. Functional or not. August 5, 12 and 19: Three Fridays 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. $105.
High School Potter's Wheel (ages 13-17 all levels)
Make beautiful glazed functional stoneware pottery. Have fun with friends. Dates to be announced. $105. (Tentatively 4 Saturdays, July 16 Aug. 5, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Please call.)
Surface Decoration and Glazing for Stoneware
Bring another level of interest to your work. Learn about oxides, stains, slips, flashing slips, scraffito, overglaze & underglaze techniques and how they work with glazes and in the salt/wood kiln. August 11, 18 & 25: three Thursdays
12:30 – 3:30 p.m. $105.

The Summer Art Camp at Maho Bay Clay Works…
Will be offered 2 weeks this year for 8-12 yr. olds: July 18-22 and July 25-29. It will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday- Friday. The first week will include Potter's wheel in the morning, and painting, watercolor & mixed media in the afternoon.
The second week will be devoted to clay hand building and sculpture in the morning, and painting, collage printmaking in the afternoon. At midday there is a lunch break and game-time planned. For kids who enjoy being creative, this program offers fun and fundamentals of craft, art and design. Locals and visitors are welcome in this program. Parents are responsible for transportation and a bag lunch and snacks. Frett's Taxi is a convenient transportation to and from Cruz Bay. Water will be provided and all time is supervised. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $375.00 per week.
