Teacher Recalls Teaching at Sprauve School in 1970s

I taught school at Julius Sprauve [Elementary School] in '72 thru 1977. My special education classes, were always visited by Mr. Prince, Ms. Lucy, Mr. Guy Benjamin and Rodney Varlack. Roy Sewer was the principal then. I learned plenty from them and also from Sen. Noble Samuel. Thanks to them and many other St. John natives (Warren, Winston Wells, Pimpy, Big Lou, Oswin Sewer, Callas).
I am now dean and crisis intervention director at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. We have a program for here for children of special needs. I owe many, many thanks to my friends from St. Johns as I learned many valuable heartwarming traditions that I use in my everyday work. I sincerely miss St. John and my friends.
