District Primary Spelling Bee Friday

March 30, 2005 – Second and third graders will compete Friday in the 17th annual primary level spelling bee organized by the Department of Education. This year 21 students representing second and third graders from public, parochial, and private schools will get a preview of the District Intermediate Spelling Bee.
"The event provides a positive learning experience for these students. It also gives them an opportunity to expand their vocabulary and improve their spelling," April Monroe Phillips, St. Thomas-St. John District Primary Grades Coordinator, said in a release.
The District Primary Spelling Bee will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in the Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School Auditorium.
Friends and family members are invited to attend and support participating students.
