Holy Skit! Epiphany Theater Company has a New Play

Feb. 28, 2005 — The Epiphany Theater Company of St. John will perform four one act comedies entitled "Holy Skit!" It's a light-hearted, sometimes irreverent series of satirical skits on our perception of God, the Bible and even mourning.
"The title of the show just came to me as we contemplated what our next effort might be," says Paul Devine, Director of the new comedy show. "I was searching frantically for comedy shows that would have universal appeal and I thought St. Johnians would love these skits. No easy task, as comedy is not usually associated with holiness".
The skits by Don Nigro entitled "Bible" and "Crossing the Bar" involve watching a mother explain God's Book to her children, and a twitching corpse at a funeral. "Man and God, Having a Few Beers and Talking Things Over" by Jeffery Scott will have you wondering what you would talk about with God if given the chance. See what can happen when a little detail like a building permit gets in Noah's way in a Mark Twain classic, "Noah and the Bureaucrat."
Shows will be performed at 7:30 p.m. March 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, and 26 in the Mongoose Restaurant. Tickets are $15.00 and available in advance at Connections or at the door.
The Epiphany Theater Company is always looking for new talent to join the troupe in the areas of acting, production, set-construction, props and costumes. For more information about Holy Skit contact Paul Devine at 714-2807 or Carole DeSenne at 643-4838.
