West Indian Furniture to Be Auctioned

Jan. 10, 2005 – The Caribbean Museum Center of Arts in Frederiksted and the Medical Clinic in Frederiksted will be beneficiaries of an antique furniture auction on Jan. 15 and 16 at the Walsh Metalworks studio in Peter's Rest.
The furniture is West IIndian mahogany that was in Denmark and restored there. It's been shipped back here for the auction. Each piece has been authenticated.
The auction will culminate a series of events that started Jan 10 with a preview party at the studio.
Tuesday through Friday the furniture is available for viewing from 1 to 5 p.m. On Jan 14, the museum is hosting a Cultural Collage and Friday night there is a reception and wine tasting at the Deep End.
