News Brief: Senate Swearing In Monday

Jan. 6, 2005 — The general public is invited to witness the swearing-in ceremonies and organization of the 26th Legislature of the Virgin Islands beginning at 10 a.m. Monday. The ceremony will be held on the grounds of the Capitol Building.
After the ceremonial Oath of Office is administered by Maria Cabret, chief presiding judge of the Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands, proceedings will move to the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall for the 26th Legislature's first regular session to establish its leadership and organizational structure.
According to a release from the Legislature, the ceremonies and organization will be covered by all radio and television outlets, and a full-sized monitor will be provided for residents who come to the ceremony not be able to attend the session due to the anticipated overcrowding of the senate chambers.
