Senators Need to Find the Courage of Their Convictions

To the Senators:
I congratulate you for wholeheartedly passing the Animal Cruelty Bill.
Now the community is asking you to have the courage of your convictions and put this bill on the Special Session agenda and override the governor's veto. How can the Governor call a Special Session to address horse racing on St. Croix and leave off the bill that addresses what happens to these poor creatures after they can no longer race??? If anyone has any doubts about the extent or the horror of what this community is capable of visit www.humanesocietyofstthomas.com and see for yourself. Then it will be easy to see why there is so much violence and abuse in these islands.
In passing the legislation, you, Senators, have heard the cry of all of us to stop the violence. Please hear it even louder now. Put the Animal Cruelty Bill on the Special Session agenda and override the Governor's veto! It would be the best Christmas present you could give your community!
