Nov. 11, 2004 All public schools in the St. Croix district will be closed Friday to allow faculty and staff to engage in professional development training sessions, which will emphasize reading, writing and mathematical skills, according to press materials.
"The professional development day will afford employees the opportunity to make a contribution in reforming education," Superintendent Terrence Joseph said in a press release. "It will emphasize the importance of the involvement of the entire education community in the education of students."
St. Thomas-St. John public schools are also closed Friday, as faculty and staff focus on literacy training.
