Oct. 14, 2004 – Generation Now! Inc., in conjunction with AARP of the Virgin Islands, invites the public to "Meet and Greet Your Candidates." This event is being hosted at the former Sea Top restaurant located at St. Croix By the Sea on Friday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. The meet-and-greet format is designed to acquaint the public at large with the candidates of the 2004 election. Voters can acquaint themselves with the candidates and the issues in a neutral setting.
All candidates from the district of St. Croix have been invited including those competing in the delegate race. This forum is designed for those who may not feel comfortable posing questions in a debate setting and would like to get to know the figures that will be representing them. The public is invited to participate and ask questions in a one-on-one atmosphere.
Generation Now! is a community activist group that is concerned with improving the quality of life on the Virgin Islands. Part of the group's mission is to keep the V.I. public informed on important issues. It is anticipated that attendees will leave the event with a clear understanding of the candidates and their take on the political obstacles ahead for the Virgin Islands. There will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres, live jazz and a cash bar. For information contact Adrienne I. Williams, president of Generation Now! Inc., at 643-1710 or Albert Bryan Jr., vice president, at 771-2830.
