Update on Appeal of 2003 Property Tax Bills

Oct. 12, 2004 – Pursuant to Section 4, of Act No. 3984, Lt. Gov. Vargrave Richards, as acting governor, transmitted to the Legislature an Executive Order that sets the date for payment, the date of delinquency and the date for appeal of the 2003 Real Property Tax Bills, according to a press release issued Tuesday.
The order states that "all 2003 residential and commercial real property tax bills shall be due and payable on or before Aug. 30, 2004, and become delinquent if not paid on or before Sept. 30." The last day for filing an appeal of the 2003 Residential and Commercial Real Property Tax Bills is Friday, Oct. 15, 2004.
This Executive Order is issued for auditing purposes and in compliance with Title 33, Section 2494 of the Virgin Islands Code, the release stated.
