Every year 198,100 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, and it will claim about 31,500 lives. If detected early it can be treated effectively, but early prostate cancer has no symptoms. Men can get a free prostate cancer screening Saturday, Oct. 16, between 8 a.m.- noon at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. It's sponsored by The Cancer Information Service, V.I. Urologic Center Inc., Roy Schneider Hospital, V.I. Department of Health and the American Cancer Society. For information, call Deborah Richardson-Peter with CIS at 277-7421.
