Seaborne Airlines Adds Low-Cost Midday Fares

Oct. 2, 2004 – Seaborne is lowering midday fares. Starting Oct. 4 travelers choosing midday flights between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday between 6:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. can fly between St. Thomas and St. Croix for as little as $75 and for $135 between St. Thomas/St. Croix and San Juan, Omer ErSelcuk, Seaborne's chief marketing officer, said in a release.
As with all special fares, seats are limited and restrictions apply. After sale fares sell out regular fares will apply, he said.
"We've added these fares in the hope of stimulating travel and economic activity between St. Thomas and St. Croix. Additionally, we also hope to add more flights between St. Thomas and St. Croix during the lunch hour – a period that is traditionally lightly traveled – after all, our aircraft don't need to take a lunch break! If this promotion is successful it will allow us to add more flights with more low fares," he said.
As part of the launch Seaborne will donate $5 from each midday fare sold during the month of October towards the V.I. Boy Scouts to assist them in the building of the new Howard Wall Boy Scout Camp at Great Salt Pond in St. Croix.
"We are grateful for Seaborne and the many corporations and community-minded individuals who are contributing to the creation of a first-class facility that will help keep the future young men off the streets and engaged in society," Sal Sanpere, a Boy Scouts board member, said.
Seaborne has also lowered change fees on sale fares and reduced fares for children 2 to 12, he said. For details, visit the Seaborne Web site at www.seaborneairlines.com or call 773-6442.
