Comprehensive Plan Meeting Will Be On the Radio

Sept. 23, 2004 – Tonight’s town meeting on the Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan will be broadcast live on radio station WIUJ 102.9 FM, according to a release issued by the Legislature office of public affairs Thursday afternoon.
The town meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at the American Legion Hall in Christiansted. The public is invited to attend the meeting in person, ask questions and give input on the proposal.
Sen. Louis Hill, chairperson of the Committee on Planning and Environmental Protection, said this comprehensive bill could affect every homeowner and businessperson in the territory.
"Everyone needs to be aware of the benefits and possible consequences of the plan," Hill said. "To that end, and being mindful of residents who cannot be present at tonight's meeting, I have arranged the live radio broadcast through WIUJ 102.9 F.M."
A similar meeting was held Tuesday at St. Gerard’s Hall in Frederiksted. (See Land and Water Use Plan Gets First Public Airing ).
Meetings are also planned for St. Thomas and St. John.
