Frederiksted Gets Parking Restricted, Traffic Detoured

August 25, 2004 – Parking restrictions and traffic flow changes for Strand Street, Frederiksted, will commence on Sunday at midnight and last for two months.
Deputy Chief of Police Herminio Velazquez of the V.I. Police department advises the following in a press release. "Due to the ongoing construction activity on Strand Street, no-parking restrictions will be in effect for the length of Strand Street from King Cross to Buddhoe Park. Additionally, the northbound lane on Strand Street will be closed, allowing traffic one way (south bound) from Buddhoe Park to King Cross Street. Any vehicles found parked in restricted areas will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
Velazquez said the police department regrets any inconvenience these changes and restrictions might cause.
