Aug. 17, 2004 – The death of Gertrude Forbes Turnbull was announced Tuesday by Government House.
She was the stepmother of Gov. Charles W. Turnbull and the mother of Cecil Forbes.
A memorial service is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday at Christ Church Methodist in downtown Charlotte Amalie.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Methodist Church in West End, Tortola.
Lt. Gov. Vargrave Richards issued a statement of condolences expressing the hope that family and friends will "find solace in sharing fond memories of a beloved matriarch."
