Agency Completes Review of Methadone Program

Aug. 5, 2004 – The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations has completed its review of the Health Department's Substance Abuse Treatment Program, according to a Government House release issued on Thursday.
Dr. Celia Victor, the Health Department's Mental Health Division director, "provided all the necessary information to the investigator, Dennis Marchinko, and said that the results of the review will be provided via official channels," the release stated.
And, it said, Health Commissioner Darlene Carty said all indications were that the commission, the nation's leading certifying agency of health-care facilities, "viewed positively the changes" brought to the Methadone treatment program.
