July 26, 2004 – The University of the Virgin Islands Bulletin Board issued today has these announcements:

St. Thomas Campus Dining Pavilion Closes from July 26 to Aug. 15
The Dining Pavilion on UVI's St. Thomas campus will be closed for two weeks beginning July 26. The Dining Pavilion is scheduled to reopen on Aug. 16th.
Summer Session Classes End July 26
July 26 is the last day of summer session classes at UVI. The last day for instructors to submit grades and the last day of the summer session is Wednesday, July 28.
UVI to host a United Nations Universities Consortium
UVI will host a series of meetings of the Small Islands Developing States Universities Consortium from Aug. 3-6. Under the auspices of the United Nations, the SIDS Universities Consortium meetings will include delegates from the University of Malta, the National University of Singapore, Veerapen University of Mauritius, The National University of Samoa, the University of the West Indies, as well as from UVI and the University of Puerto Rico.
The opening ceremony for the SIDS Universities Consortium will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts. Reichhold Adds Second Oliver Samuels Performance on St. Thomas
UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts has announced that an additional performance by Oliver Samuels & Company in Patrick Brown's comedy "Christopher Cum-Buck-Us" has been scheduled on St. Thomas on Sunday, Aug. 15. Shows are now planned on St. Croix at the Island Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, Aug. 13, and on St. Thomas at the Reichhold Center on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14 and 15. All shows begin at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available on St. Croix at People's Drug Store (Sunny Isles), Pier 69 (Frederiksted), Urban Threadz (Christiansted), Reichhold Center ticketing office via telephone and the UVI Bookstore. On St. Thomas, tickets are available at Modern Music (both locations), Krystal Gifts Galore (Tutu Park Mall), Parrot Fish (Backstreet), the UVI Bookstore, Connections (St. John), and the Reichhold Center ticketing office. Fall Semester Classes to Begin Aug. 19; Student Orientation Schedule Online
UVI's fall 2004 semester classes will begin on Thursday, Aug. 19. Student orientation for the semester is set for Sunday, Aug. 15, through Wednesday, Aug. 18. The full student orientation schedules for the St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses are now available in the "Academics" section of the UVI Web site (link below). Orientation schedules are also available at this direct link.
Starfest Featured Each Monday on WTJX-TV
The Virgin Islands' best singers and dancers are featured each Monday in STARfest on WTJX Public Television. The program includes highlights from past STARfests and airs at 8 p.m. It is offered in collaboration with UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts.
