July 6, 2004 – "Collective Security through Collective Cooperation" is the theme of a week-long international conference being hosted by the St. Thomas Rastafari community that is to begin on July 16.
The Haile Selassie 1st Earthday Anniversary International Summit Conference and Gathering is scheduled to get under way at 1 p.m. on July 16 with "Family Day" activities at the Club House on the University of the Virgin Islands St. Thomas campus. The opening ceremonies will include remarks by hosts and the introduction of delegates.
The remainder of the schedule, according to a release:
July 17 — The topic of "Education on Rastafari Livity through Literature" including books, newspapers, music and media will be addressed beginning at 3 p.m. at the UVI Club House.
July 18 – An arts, crafts and cultural exhibition will open at 10 a.m. at the Bordeaux Tennis Courts.
July 19 – The topic of "Health and Spirituality" will be addressed beginning at 3 p.m. at the Oswald Harris Court Community Center.
July 20 – A discussion on agriculture and a youth panel discussion will be held beginning at 3 p.m. at the Oswald Harris Court center.
July 21 – The topic of "Economics and Resources, Reparations and Repatriation" will be addressed beginning at 3 p.m. at the Oswald Harris Court center.
July 22 – In the closing session, the topic of "Transportation" and regional reports by delegates will be taken up beginning at 3 p.m. at the Oswald Harris Court center. The evening will bring the beginning of seven lights of Nyahbinghi Iscs Tabernacle in Bordeaux, Jubilee Province, Zion Hill, Hope Road. Food and drinks will be on sale at all venues.
