The V.I. Young Men's National Team Is Being Formed

June 14, 2004 – The V.I. Basketball Federation is forming the Virgin Islands Young Men National Team. Glenn "Kimble" Williams has been named head coach, and assistant coaches are Alvan Jarvis for the St. Croix District and Pedrito Estrill for the St. Thomas/ St. John District.
All interested players must be born on Jan. 1, 1984 or after, and possess a valid U.S. passport, a release said. In order to participate on a national team, players must meet one of the International Basketball Federation criteria:
1 – be born in the U.S. Virgin Islands
2 – One of the parents must be born in the U.S. Virgin Islands, or
3 – be naturalized in the U.S. Virgin Islands prior to the age of 16.
The final training camp begins on July 4, and all interested players should contact the assistant coach in either district or call 712-2320 for a player form.
