June 12, 2004 – WTJX-TV Channel 12/DT 44 is seeking golfers for its inaugural golf tournament. It is scheduled for Sunday, October 17, at the Carambola Golf Club on St. Croix.
A press release from the station said this tournament promises to be a spectacular event and will bring together golf enthusiasts from throughout the Virgin Islands.
A company team registration fee is $1,000 and the individual registration fee is $125.
The televised tournament will raise funds for WTJX, a member of the Public Broadcasting Service, to allow the station to bring more local programs.
The Carambola Beach Resort is offering discounted rates for over-night guests.
