V.I. Labor Offers Pre-GED and Specialized Training

June 10, 2004 – The V.I. Labor Department's Workforce Investment System is seeking young people between the ages of 14 and 21 who are ready to make a difference in their lives.
A variety of programs are offered, including pre-GED classes, life skills training, entry-level office training, agro-tourism and landscaping, and more. This initiative provides V.I. employers with a pool of trained employees, a release said.
Labor Commissioner Cecil R. Benjamin urges youths to visit the offices, see if they meet certain eligibility requirements, and explore available career options. Contact the Workforce Development offices on St. Croix at the Sunny Isle Mini Mall, 778-0429, or on St. Thomas at No. 54 A&B Kronprindens Gade (Main Street a block west of the Catholic Church), 776-3700.
