Counselor Won't be Visiting Vets on St. John

June 5, 2004 – Veterans residing on St. John will no longer have access to the monthly counseling there.
Justin Harrigan, Sr., Department of Veterans Affairs director, said in a recent press release that the service would be terminated Monday, June 7.
Harrigan said that the Director of the Regional Office in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Sonia M. Moreno, stated that the decision was made to terminate the monthly visits to St. John by the Benefits Counselor due to very small audiences.
Veterans living on St. John can obtain assistance at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic at the Buccaneer Mall on St. Thomas. They can also contact the VA using their toll tree number 1-800-827-1000.
