May 10, 2004 – In the US Virgin Islands, there are two Toastmasters clubs on St. Thomas, Tropical Eloquence and Toastmasters 4040U, and one club on St Croix.
The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Membership is open to anyway wishing to participate in nurturing that environment.
St. Croix Club meets on the first and third Monday monthly at 6:30 p.m. in the AARP center Estate Diamond, Sunny Isle annex. For information call 778-1593
Tropical Eloquence, St. Thomas meets on the first and third Friday monthly at UVI campus. The contact number is 776-3206
V. I. Toastmasters Club 4040U, St. Thomas, meets on the first. and third Wednesday monthly at the Chamber of Commerce conference room, Charlotte Amalie. The contact number is 776-2035, or e-mail Toastmasters4040u@Dussault.us.
Toastmasters offer its members the opportunity to become better communicators and better leaders. A recent press release from the organizations said, "Take the initiative today and visit any of the clubs in the US Virgin Islands, you are most welcome."
