ACTIVITIES TO MARK NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK

May 4, 2004 – National Hospital Week begins May 10, and Roy L. Schneider Hospital has a range of activities planned to mark the occasion locally. This year's theme, "Miracle Start with Caring Hearts," will showcase the talents of hospital employees.
"With new technologies and advances in medicine, we are living in a miraculous time in health care," Rodney E. Miller Sr., Schneider Hospital president and chief executive officer, said. "It's important to remember that many of the medical miracles that occur here daily would not be possible without the caring, concerned and dedicated employees … This week is for them."
Launched in 1921, National Hospital Week "has grown into the nation's largest health-care event," a release stated. On St. Thomas, the following events are scheduled:
Monday, May 10, at 10 a.m. — public religious program in the hospital lobby.
Tuesday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon — public open house at the hospital lobby; to be followed by a managers' luncheon for supervisors, managers and assistants of all hospital departments.
Wednesday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. — employees' talent and fashion show in the hospital lobby.
Friday, May 14, at 10 a.m. — presentation of employee service awards and recognition of volunteers in the hospital lobby.
