V.I. CARNIVAL LEAVE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

April 20, 2004 – Gov. Charles W. Turnbull announced next week's V.I. Carnival schedule of leave for government employees in a release issued by Government House on Tuesday.
He said the leave for key events of the 52nd anniversary celebration would "enhance the celebration of Carnival by all residents and visitors."
The schedule is:
Wednesday, April 28 – administrative leave for non-essential employees in the St. Thomas-St. John district from noon to 5 p.m. for the annual Food, Arts and Craft Fair.
Thursday, April 29 — administrative leave for non-essential employees in the district from 8 a.m. to noon for J'ouvert.
Friday, April 30 – administrative leave territorywide all day for the Children's Parade.
This year, the Adults Parade and concluding events in the Village fall on a Saturday.
According to the release, leave will not be granted to essential employees and to those whose shifts happen to fall on a day when other employees receive administrative leave. Leave would also not apply to employees already away from work on sick leave or annual leave.
