VESSUP BEACH SALE COULD BE COSTLY

Dear Source,
Are Sen. Hill and the 1200 residents who signed the petition willing to have their taxes raised to make up the difference in the tax base that this development could bring?
This is money that is desperately needed. It could be used for more policemen and better equipment for the ones we have.
This is money that could be used to rebuild our overtaxed sewage system and stop the pollution of our pristine water system. This is money that could be used to install pump out systems for live-a-board boats that are polluting our bays.
This is money that is needed by the citizens of our islands who would be employed by the developers. (They would also contribute to the tax base.)
If the 1201 individuals are willing to contribute $2,500 each they can cover the price to purchase the property. Then we will need to add to their tax obligation another $1,500 per year to cover the loss of much needed revenue.
