COSMIC NEWS: TUNE YOUR ANTENNA

BACKGROUND NOTES: ME, TV and SPORTS
Feb. 23, 2004 – I basically get two TV channels here in the Virgin Islands — ABC, PBS (thank goodness) and Desportes 13 (Sports 13 from Puerto Rico). That's usually enough. I don't want to encourage myself to watch TV. I confess, though, that I welcome the offer of a cable box, if only to be able to watch the Stanley Cup finals. It's a great surprise to me and to people who know me that I suddenly have this thing about sports for the last few years. Me? It's true, I'm a Sag, the sports sign. A few years ago, I was reading about Mayan cosmology. For the Mayans, ball games were their highest religious rituals. Well, I thought, that's still true for many people in our culture. With Pluto in Sagittarius, I thought I should check out this aspect of the current collective consciousness. So now, a weekend isn't a weekend without some sports. Who would have thought?! But as one hockey commentator put it: Speed and Balance = Power. I like watching Strength and Grace.
So I got a new antenna, the old one was increasingly static and fuzzy. I'm not high-tech. This one has a button and dial, a direction finder and two long rabbit ears. I need to adjust it constantly, but it works for me, barely.
Also, you should know that I am quite active in this outdoor gym of an island. I am especially getting into long swims. I am a Moon in Cancer mermaid at home in the Caribbean Sea.
NEW URANUS MOON on FEB 20
We're all tuning our antennae with Uranus now in a new sign. This month, pay special attention to your cosmic reception, as the New Moon on February 20 was closely conjunct Uranus — in Pisces, sign of the sea. I took a long swim to start off the New Moon. Heading around Mary's Point it was quite choppy; the current is strong there and changes. A swell was coming in from the north, pushing the waters up onto the shore — that means there has been stormy weather in the northeast U.S.
We are now in a section of the galaxy with such a strong current, powerful cosmic energy affecting our Sun. Extra strong solar flares have been streaming into our higher atmosphere and charging the electromagnetic fields of Earth, creating a bit of chop. Are you feeling it? We are all plugged in. If you're getting static — as in stress, feeling drained, restlessness — it's a good time to adjust the dial, refocus the reception. If you are watching much TV news, you are probably getting the wrong message. You may want to unplug from fear and panic.
By the way, the moons of Mars are named Demos and Phobos = fear and panic, companions of the god of war. Under the bright glow of Mars last summer, have some of us translated Mars into the spiritual warrior, into courage of heart?
FINE-TUNING with the PLANETS
Fine-tuning also means working with your body. Jupiter, one of the rulers of Pisces, is in Virgo until next fall. Some of our greatest wisdom comes from listening to our body-mind, which is intimately hard-wired to Mother Nature, the Anima Mundi, Soul of the World.
A world of imagination. With the deep intuition and imagination evoked by Pluto in Sagittarius we are in the process of re-creating our collective Vision. The Moon's nodes are in Scorpio and Taurus, offering insights into the underpinnings of matter. Scorpio taps into the deep underwater currents of the subatomic world, swirling with fields of energy. When these fields cross, matter happens, as Taurus demonstrates. What is the matter? Ah, that's the question. If you don't like what is manifesting around you, tune your antenna to a different energy field. You attract what you beam out.
Venus gives a strong clue: Go for what feels good, true and beautiful. Venus is in Aries. On the New Moon it was at 14 degrees Aries, aligned with the star Alpheratz. Alpheratz marks one corner of the Great Square of Pegasus, the Winged Horse. It also marks the head of Andromeda, the Chained Princess. Venus in Aries brings out the Xena in us all, the Amazon Warrior-Queen. Let¹s unchain the lady, who gives birth to the Andromeda Galaxy and let her fly on the Winged Horse.
Mars conjunct the north node of the Moon invites questions of life style. It's gotta be worth it, says Taurus, to make a change. Yes, oh yes, says Venus. It's gonna be worth it in the long run. Let the Beauty in. Mars and Venus are in each other's signs now and will be moving closer to each other as the winter progresses into spring. This enhances our emotional awareness in a heightened way right up to the special Venus occultation point on June 8. More on that rare event later.
Meanwhile Mercury will be picking up new signals as it moves into Pisces on February 25. This Messenger of the Gods wears the antenna on its head and will zero in on Uranus, the Awakener, on the 27th. Adjust your antenna and you'll get some important clues and news.
