Dear Source,

Can anyone around here land their balloon for just a minute or two?
A contributor is concerned about global warming? Does this mean that he is less concerned with our exponential insular sewage? I just don't get it.
We have so many local problems, and global warming seems to be way down on the list.
Suggestions: First we get our financial house in order by eliminating bloat and ineptitude in government entities, then summarily address education, sewage (now synonomous with tourism), crime, hospitals, public "utilities," hazardous roads, the problems plaguing our police department, and all of the other incompetent stench in this U.S. "paradise."
We spend an inordinate amount of time grilling Mr. Lewis on his administration of our police department. We all know that he is but another scapegoat, and when the man tries to do his job we crucify him.
Why isn't the Public Works Department on the hot seat before the Senate committee? This makes absolutely no sense. And you're insulted that the Feds are reclaiming their vested interested? Amazing the way the politicians think.
What right do we have to complain about hiring continentals, when we do not allow our kids any kind of education locally? Some jobs need
qualifications. Apparently the local government does not ascribe to this fact of life. If we adequately train Virgin Islanders and instill some sort of work ethic, then the hiring from off-island will not be necessary.
Eat the blame, it is yours. Quit complaining. Devote your energies to fixing the problems you created for your citizens.
