FAMILY LEAVES ST. CROIX AFTER 38 YEARS

Dear Source,
Too little too late!!! I grew up on St. Croix and more recently managed a hotel in downtown Christiansted. The economic problems have been due to poor government management, and the fact that the private sector no longer makes enough to contribute towards the community doesn't help.
Finding that the frustration I had was becoming overwhelming, I made the decision to leave my home. The rest of my family felt the same way and the only member of my family left is my mother. An ex-Tourism employee, she has watched the corruption, neglect and ineptitude of the managing directors of the various departments drag St. Croix down to the bottom of the barrel. She too will be moving away this year, from a place we have called home for some 38 years.
The federal government should have made a move a long time ago, as I do not see where any changes can make much of a difference, by leaving the running of this government in the present administration's hands.
