USIE RICHARDS HEADS REGIONAL BASKETBALL ENTITY

Feb. 5, 2004 – Sen. Usie Richards, president of the V.I. Basketball Federation since 1981, is the new president of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation.
Richards previously served as secretary-general of the regional affiliate of the World Basketball Federation.
Elections for the confederation's executive positions were held on Jan. 31 at a meeting of representatives in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, according to a release.
The other officers elected at that time are:
Vice president for programs and development: Marland Nattie of Jamaica.
Vice president for technical operations: Glyne Clarke of Barbados.
Vice president for finance and marketing: Francis Williams of Barbados.
Treasurer: Clayton Blackman of Trinidad and Tobago.
Secretary-General: Sabrina Mitchell of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Other board members: Hector Reyes of Puerto Rico and Atiba Williams of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
