SPECIAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT RETREAT

Belinda West-O'Neal, state director of special education, announces a professional development retreat on Secondary Transition is scheduled for Feb. 2-5 in the St. Thomas-St. John District.
The three-day session fulfills a mandatory requirement of the special conditions imposed by the U.S. Department of Education, the Office of Special Education and Programs, on the V.I. federal Fiscal Year 2003 grant award, under Part B of IDEA with Disabilities Individual Act," said West-Oneal.
"Targeted to middle and high school special education teachers, guidance counselors and building administrators who work directly with special education students, the training provides participants with the appropriate requirements of transition and strategies to make the transition process come alive for students in their high school years."
Interested educators and parents are encouraged to register at 774-4399.
