VETERANS BENEFITS EXPO IS SATURDAY

Jan. 19, 2004 – A Veterans Benefits Expo on St. Thomas will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, at the University of the Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center.
The Expo, canceled in November due to the heavy rains, will be on from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event will give veterans and their families information about benefits available and what agency administers program benefits. They can learn their eligibility for pension or compensation benefits, education alternatives, vocational rehabilitation and the GI Bill, said a release. National Guard members can inquire about their possible benefits, too.
"The Benefits Expo will also cover local and federal programs, " said Justin Harrigan, Veterans Affairs director. "V.I. banks and educational institutions will also offer information on the services they provide to veterans, dependents and their survivors."
For more information call the Office of Veterans Affairs at 774-6100.
