Jan. 14, 2004 – The Omega Institute is now running its winter workshops at Maho Bay Camps and is again offering a free "Evenings with Omega" series for the local community.
The four public programs remaining take place on Mondays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fish Trap Restaurant in Cruz Bay.
On Jan. 19, Jon Kabat-Zinn will discuss mindfulness-based stress reduction, focusing on how people can learn through meditation to renew and recharge, explore their lives on a deeper level, and acquire tools for a lifetime of well being. Kabat-Zinn is the founder of the stress reduction clinic at the Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.
On Jan. 26, Alex and Allyson Gray will teach how to paint from the "wellspring of inner visions" in their "Visions of Paradise" seminar. Alex Gray is a visionary artist. Allyson Gray has taught at several universities and colleges.
On Feb. 2, John Perkins will teach "Shapeshifting Consciousness," intended to help participants rise to a higher level of consciousness. Perkins is an authority on shamanism.
On Feb. 9, Steven Michael Pague, a vocalist and guitarist, will provide a musical evening.
