Dear Source,
Can someone let the government know that a small business can help the economy. Make laws that will benefit small businesses, set aside contracts for small businesses in the island.
Question –Do those businesses in St. Thomas or other islands pay more rent than taxes? What about businesses that should not be operating because of tax problems. Who monitors that?
Example: I was about to purchase a laundromat from a man in St. Thomas, but when I did my research I found out he owes five years worth of taxes .He is still operating now and the records have the business as closed.
I wonder how many businesses are doing that in St. Thomas. Remember what happened after Hurricane Hugo with the insurance company?
Who sets the zoning laws, rent laws. Who collects for the government? I hope the government reads these comments
My family in St. Thomas would like to open a business there but rent is ridiculous.
Those that have businesses there – do they keep their money there or at off-shore accounts?
Remember a rich person is always trying to keep money.
