DELEGATE GETS SMALL BUSINESS ASSIGNMENTS

Feb. 27, 2003 – Delegate Donna M. Christensen, a member of the House Committee on Small Business, has been named to serve in the 108th Congress on its Subcommittees on Regulatory Reform and Oversight and on Rural Enterprises, Agriculture and Technology.
U.S. Rep. Nydia M. Velazquez, ranking Democrat on the committee, said in a release on Wednesday that "small business is big business in America." She added, "I know we can get our economy back on track by providing support to America's small businesses."
Velazquez, a Democrat from New York, said the committee will work to ensure that key lending programs are fully funded, that entrepreneurs have access to key technical assistance programs, that taxes and regulations are less burdensome to small enterprises, and that health care and retirement security are within reach for small business owners and their employees.
