POLE PLACEMENT TO TIE UP EVANS HIGHWAY TRAFFIC

Feb. 11, 2003 – Westbound traffic on Melvin Evans Highway will be interrupted all day Wednesday as Public Works Department employees erect a new traffic signal pole at the intersection of the entrance to Renaissance Park, formerly Vialco.
From 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., heavy equipment will be in used to lift and position the pole. Both lanes of westbound traffic will be affected, according to Commissioner Wayne Callwood, and motorists are urged to use alternate routes during these hours.
Motorists and pedestrians using the intersection should exercise caution and obey posted signs "in order to ensure the safety of the traveling public and the construction workers," Callwood said.
